reagent testing

a marquis, mecke, and mandelin kit covers the basics. drop a tiny amount of substance on the reagent. watch the color change. compare to the chart. takes five minutes.

what it tells you: the primary substance present. what it doesn’t tell you: purity, dosage, or the presence of trace contaminants.

fentanyl test strips

dissolve a small amount of substance in water. dip the strip. wait two minutes. one line means fentanyl detected. two lines means not detected.

these are not perfect. they can miss carfentanil analogs. but they catch most fentanyl contamination, which is the thing most likely to kill you.
